A beautiful circular walk taking in some heritage aspects of Combe Down from growth as a small village with quarrying Bath Stone for Ralph Allen’s picturesque buildings in 18th Century Bath.
Following footpaths east from the start point to Combe Down, where we will see buildings with connections to its past.
Then taking paths south towards Tucking Mill and through woodland in Horsecombe Vale. There is a climb up from the Vale to the Midford Road but pace will be adjusted for walkers to take time on the ascent.
Following paths and minor roads we will then visit the interesting old village of South Stoke and westwards back to P&R.
The walk includes some steep sections, gates, steps and potentially muddy sections. The walk is 7 miles and will take 5 hours.
