Volunteers from the Cleveland Pools project will be in Sydney Gardens to talk about the project and test a self-guided walking tour. Come and pick up a map and guide, walk the route and then give the team your feedback. We will be in Sydney Gardens between 12 and 4pm
The route winds through the lesser-known Bathwick backwaters taking in Great Pulteney Street and the Kennet and Avon canal to reach the historic site of Cleveland Pools. Download a copy of the walk here, if you’d prefer – CP TRAIL HOME PRINTING
The Pools sit quietly on the banks of the River Avon in a secluded spot that once defined Georgian Bath as the destination for leisure and wellness. Today the site is relatively unknown (and notoriously tricky to find!) but with restoration work about to begin on a brand new swimming facility for all to enjoy, it’s time to unlock one of Bath’s hidden gems. Although it is not yet possible to step inside, finding this intriguing location ahead of time will provide a sneak peak of what the future holds.
The transformation of the historic Cleveland Pools into a modern outdoor swimming pool will be a momentous project for Bath and we hope you will join us for the journey.
Members of the Bathscape team will also be in Sydney Gardens to give out more information about the Walking Festival and talk about the project.
